###### How I Got Into Math

*Math* has always been a passion of mine. (Although lately, with work and life, I haven't had time to do much with it, other that what was required for my immediate needs, usually related to Software Engineering and Computer Science.)

Both my Mom and my Dad have aptitudes for Math. And Math skills were valued in my family.

My Mother starting teaching me *Math* at a very very young age. Before I could talk -- before I was 5 months old. (She did the same for my my Brother.)

She started with the Integers, Counting, Addition and Subtraction using things like pieces of food, Legos, and other toys. She even did some Multiplication and Division, before I even went to school (at 3 years of age).

While going to school, Math was always one of my favorite classes.

My first job was actually as a Math Tutor. At first I just privately tutored elemantary school and high school Mathematics. But later, started working for Kwantlen College, tutoring 1st and 2nd year Mathematics.

While going to University, I planned to major in Mathematics. But after some class mates told me that, unless I was willing to move out of BC, the only job I could get with a major in Math was doing Actuarial Math, predicting when people will die, for insurance companies... I decided to switch to Computer Science as my major. This switch happened after I was already taking 4th year courses in Mathematics at University.
