Topic: Alot

The word "alot" means the same thing as the phrase "a lot".

"alot" (and, of course, "a lot") mean.... A large amount, extent, or number.

Here's some examples...

John is in alot of trouble!
Jane has alot of apples in her basket.
Joe drank alot of milk.
Misspelling Or Not?

Some people consider usage of "alot" to be a misspelling (of "a lot"), despite it #1, being in wide common use, and #2, people knowingly spelling it "alot" on purpose.

For example, I write "alot" (instead of "a lot") on purpose.
